pride? nowhere. dignity? long gone.

hello there tumblr, i know a lot of you don’t know much about me. i tend to keep mostly to myself, using this more as a place to post photos rather than thoughts or ideas. it’s not to say i do not like you all, because honestly, i do. i think all of my followers and the people i am following are incredible in their own special way. i am just incredibly shy, on and off the internet. so for that, i apologize. but i would like to introduce myself and of course, if anyone ever has a question, please don’t hesitate to ask.

my name is becky. i’m currently 25 years old and i live in rhode island. i consider myself bi-sexual and i have a wonderful girlfriend named melanie. i’m starting a new job tomorrow, i’ll be doing overnight stocking in apparel at wal-mart. not that exciting, but a job is a job, especially in this economy, right? music is probably the biggest passion of mine and i would love to do something with my life that involves it, however i’m not very talented in that sense. the closest i’ve gotten is rock band and i absolutely think that is one of the best games ever made because it lets me pretend i have a shred of talent. another passion of mine is writing, although i haven’t done much of that lately. poems, short stories, even random thoughts. i enjoy placing words together and watching them weave out a pattern in the form of a story. i am not really sure what else to say about myself so i will list some of my favorite things and again, maybe if you have a question about something specific, i can answer it for you!

i love to read. some of my favorite books include: peter pan, the catcher in the rye, dearly devoted dexter, choke, the scott pilgrim series and any batman comics that include the joker.

some of my favorite bands/musicians include: the beatles, blink-182, vampire weekend, mgmt, queen, lady gaga, and brand new. there really are so many others but it would take forever to name them all. i will mention two artists that i believe are completely underrated. kevin devine and brian bonz. i have had the pleasure of seeing the both of them countless times that they even recognize me and they always have taken the time to talk to me like a normal person.

some of my favorite movies are: i love you man, disney’s peter pan, amelie, the dark knight, forgetting sarah marshall, scott pilgrim vs the world and the sound of music. my favorite television shows are: dexter, weeds, queer as folk, flight of the conchords and arrested development.

random things i love/facts:

• my heroes are john lennon and rostam batmanglij. 
• i love to sing in the car
• i really only like the taste of diet soda
• i’m good at doing different voices/imitating people
• i dropped out of college and it something i no longer regret because i now know that it wasn’t right for me at the time
• i love texting
• i collect vinyl records
